line by line.
A ZenHR alternative for UAE payroll, with DIFC DEWS, eSSL and Hikvision terminals beside ZKTeco, and a free trial. ZenHR adds Saudi payroll with native Mudad.

The short answer
DenwaysHR is a ZenHR alternative for UAE employers. Both run UAE payroll with the WPS salary file and gratuity, in English and Arabic; DenwaysHR adds DIFC DEWS, eSSL and Hikvision terminals beside ZKTeco, a Windows desktop tracker and a free trial. ZenHR also runs Saudi payroll with native Mudad, GOSI and Muqeem integrations, and payroll for Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq.
Written by the team behind DenwaysHR, so expect a case for it; every line on ZenHR comes from ZenHR's own pages and app listings, listed below. DenwaysHR puts HR, attendance and UAE payroll on one employee record, handles DIFC DEWS and lets you try the product yourself. ZenHR is HR and payroll software for the Middle East and North Africa, localized by its own count for 11 countries. For a UAE employer, the differences are in the details below.

Why choose DenwaysHR over ZenHR?
DenwaysHR has a sign-up trial, handles DIFC DEWS per establishment, and connects eSSL and Hikvision terminals as well as ZKTeco.
- A trial you can start on your own, on Basic Tracking or Basic Payroll; ZenHR offers a demo, and a representative sets up the account
- DIFC DEWS handled per establishment, so a group with a DIFC entity and a mainland one runs both in one account; ZenHR's UAE page does not mention DEWS
- eSSL and Hikvision terminals connect directly as well as ZKTeco, which ZenHR reaches through BioTime Cloud; older devices use a connector
- For staff who do not clock in by GPS or QR: a Windows app times desk hours with idle detection, and monitoring is limited to the time the employee's timer runs
- HR without payroll: Basic Tracking and Advance Tracking run records, attendance and leave, and payroll joins the same record when you add it
- Test your own requirements against the list: 131 modules and 810 features are on our features page
Should you choose DenwaysHR or ZenHR?
Start with a list of the countries you pay people in, and note whether one of your entities is in DIFC.
- Choose DenwaysHR if your payroll is in the UAE, you have a DIFC entity or people who check in at sites and desks, and you want to try the product before a sales call
- Choose ZenHR if you pay people in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt or Iraq and want that payroll in the same system as the UAE, or need a native mobile app now
What should you check before switching from ZenHR?
ZenHR's payroll reach and accounting connections are the things to map first.
- Your payroll countries: anything ZenHR pays for you in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt or Iraq has to stay with it, because DenwaysHR cannot run those yet
- Your accounts: if ZenHR connects to SAP Business One, Dynamics 365, NetSuite, Odoo, QuickBooks or Xero for you, decide how payroll reaches your accounts after the move
- Your clock-in habits: staff who use QR codes or ZenHR's app to clock in should try check-in in a phone browser first, since our native app is in development
- Your bundle: ZenHR's FAQ describes annual billing, so check when your Value or Advanced bundle renews and what notice it needs
- Your exports: ask what ZenHR gives you of employee records, attendance, documents and past payslips, and in what format
Then prove the first month from attendance through to your accounts. Compare every net figure from one run in ZenHR and DenwaysHR, check that the payroll totals reach your books the way you decided, have your bank check a test salary file, and confirm each attendance device. Our migration page has the steps.
